Batman says:
Today… started out rainy and dreary, hopefully it will blossom into an awesome day. Not that I mind rain, I actually kind of like it at times, it makes the world feel cleaner. Refreshes the air, waters the grass (Peach pushes lawnmower π¬) and trees and plants. Rain makes us find inside things to do like clean and cook ( Peach baking cookies) or snuggle in a favorite chair and read a good book…wait does anyone actually read books anymore? All I ever hear about is “electronic readers” no one talks of books. They never mention the feel of the pages, the smell of the print and age of the paper and bindings, there is something missing when you don’t have those sensations. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re reading one of those readers, at least you’re reading and not staring at a tv screen or playing video games, but don’t deprive yourself of the real book sensation. Ok, got off on a squirrel chase, rain…as if God says, “Y’all need a day to stay in and rejuvenate, so I shall make it a rainy day”. Sooo the day started off rainy and once I get all settled in to read and write, I glance out the window and thru the blinds I see blue skies and sunshine π. And just like that my relaxing day plopped in a comfy chair dissolved into dust. With sunshine comes work most times and responsibilities that one could put off while the rain is falling.
So today starts off in its glory, a bit wet and rainy, but during the middle clears and the sun shines and we must get up and do, so off we go to do whatever doing needs doing. But wait! What’s that I see on the horizon, more rain clouds?
With this new revelation my day brightens again and I once again settle into my comfy chair and do what needs doing, absolutely nothing π¬.
Remember folks, the body needs to rest, and by that I mean actually get off your feet, chill out, be lazy, read a book, knit, whatever (on second thought knitting seems complicated, so scratch that) it takes for you to physically and mentally unwind.
“Somehow, Peach I seem to be out of sweet iced tea…”

Hahaha. I know what you mean. Sunshine means we can work outside. And yes, I still read books. Constantly. I had a Kindle for a while. Read like three books on it. Nah. Give me a real book in which I can turn pages and put a real bookmark in. I love reading, and I love books. One thing I truly enjoy is going to thrift stores to find vintage hardbound books. And I read them, too! Fun!

Oh, yeah!! One of my happy childhood memories is of going to our (then) downtown public library in our historical district. It was an ancient, repurposed old home, and the smell of old books was positively HEAVENLY! Always coming out with the maximum allowed! In the early days for Jerry and I, as two life long book worms, our splurges were Waldenbooks, spending money probably not ideal for our tiny budget back then, but oh so necessary!
We are working too often to read as often as weβd like, but happy doing it. Today is rain day!! Woohoo! On a rare day off at that!!
Happy Weekend,
Boromax!

I miss bookstores – Waldenbooks, B. Dalton, Borders, Barnes & Noble… but especially local, mom-n-pop bookstores.
And, hey, call me Ed. π
