Stores

Batman Says:

Click and “poof” whatever you want is delivered to your home, you don’t ever have to leave again. Some call it convenient, I call it the slow death of “Stores”.

Remember going to the store? It was a trip, a journey where you met people, said hello and actually conversed. It was a time away from the house, sometimes it wasn’t convenient to have to go, others it was just fun. I remember during the summers when I was young (again, none ya business when that was) we would sometimes ride our bicycles the 5 miles down our barren county road to the wooden country store in the middle of the ‘tater’ fields just to get a NeHi soda and sometimes even candy. We sometimes played the worn out pinball machine, sat in the shade and talked to the “old guys” that hung around and we just had fun. Then we rode back home down that lonesome road.

As we got older the trips were made in trucks and we somehow didn’t have time to sit around and talk. And the trips to the “store” became less important. We found more “important” things to do I suppose. Shame, I kinda miss it now that I’m “growed up” supposedly.

I think somewhere along the way from childhood to adulthood we lose a special part of ourselves that if we kept, we would never not want to always see, hear, and visit places and things, and “stores”. Now with modern tech, it’s all too simple to become a hermit and just have anything you wish, dropped outside your front door. I, for one think it’s sad, I’m not saying I don’t use these options here and there, I’m saying we should never stop totally, taking the trip to the store. Giving up the chance to see an old friend, or make a new one, is not worth missing just for convenience.

Take it from Batman, you’re never too old to make new friends and renew old friendships, chances are better for both if you’re out and about as opposed to being a hermit.

No Peach this does not mean I go to town every time you do”

Naps

Batman says:

Naps? Why post about naps?

Because naps are awesome, who doesn’t remember sitting and staring at the television with its mundane, and either graphically violent or oversexed shows and nodding off, waking up at the end, missing all the violence and sex, but a bit more refreshed? I sure do, I nap all the time 👍🏼. I strategically space my naps around times of hectic goings on so as not to be interrupted. Parties and such are not good napping times, too much noise and too many people. I like the in between times, right after you have done everything needed, but before the noise starts, or after, and before the clean up begins.

I’m just kidding (mostly). Sure I take a nap now and then, while in my recliner that Peach got me (thanks 🍑), but it’s not an everyday thing or every weekend even, just once in a blue moon, but whenever I do I always wake up refreshed. I can see why kids nap, and why we used to in school, it lets the body rest even for a short while, so we can go back at the daily work, play, whatever, with more energy and focus.

Here’s hoping you get to nap sometime soon, really should try it, makes the whole day better.

Anyways, try and keep it down, please with all the responses and likes (haha), I’m due my nap soon….

Stop cleaning house 🍑 your making quite the racket..

Gun Control

Batman Says:

Enacting ANOTHER gun law will not phase any one who wants to commit a violent crime with a gun. The proof is right there in plain view, look at Chicago, the toughest laws pertaining to guns most anywhere, highest murder rate in the US.

Want to stop school crime, raise your children like your grandparents raised theirs, be strict and firm, give praise when good deeds are done, punishment when rules are broken. Yes spank your children if they are bad, it doesn’t ‘scar them for life’ as some would have you believe.

If your child is rude, and unmanageable, it is YOUR fault, not society’s, take ownership and raise your children to respect life, respect God, and stop expecting someone else to do it for you.

Buy them books instead of PlayStations, bikes instead of cars, and let them earn the money for anything else they want.

Stop blaming GUNS for the wrongs in this country, start blaming the parents who allowed their children to be spoiled brats that think society owes them something. All these so called mental health issues did not affect our forefathers and we should stop allowing ‘Doctors’ to diagnose our children as having mental health issues.

Yes, there are some people with legitimate mental health issues, but for Pete’s sake, if we listen to the ‘professionals’ every child out there has a mental health issue.

Allow teachers that want to carry Firearms at school to get good training and carry them, secure our schools from the outside in, SPEND THE MONEY NOW TO DO THIS instead of wasting it on pet projects. Hire trained people to guard our schools, you’re creating jobs AND keeping the kids safer.

No folks GUNS aren’t the problem any more than cars that are used to purposely run over people are, new Laws aren’t the answer… the answer lies at home where we either raise our children right, or we try and let society raise them so we can always blame someone/something else when they turn out disrespectful and hurtful.
